Good Places to Explore

Saint Cast Coast

The North Brittany coastline is renowned for its excellent sandy beaches, many in quiet, picturesque coves. Just 20 minutes from La Gare is the small, pretty village of St. Jacut. It is on a headland and has 3 excellent beaches. You can walk out to offshore islands when the tide is out. Even in August the road to St. Jacut is very quiet and parking is free. St. Caste (30 minutes. by car) is a slightly larger, quiet resort with more shops and restaurants and children's club.

 Historic Port of St Malo

St Malo

Wonderfully restored after the severe bombing it suffered during the Second World War. It is a lovely place to spend a day.  A stroll around the ramparts high above the beach is one of the nicest ways to spend an hour or more after a hearty lunch in one of the numerous restaurants that Saint Malo has to offer.

Dinard Resort

Dinard

(also 30 minutes, by car) was fashionable at the beginning of the century, and is a larger and more lively resort.
